Kotak Mutual Fund has launched a thematic offering – Kotak MNC Fund

It is an open-ended equity scheme following Multi-national Companies (MNC) theme.

The MNC (Multinational Corporation) sector in India continues to grow and evolve, benefiting from a mix of global integration, technological innovation, and India’s expanding role as a key player in the global economy. MNCs have had a long history in India, playing a significant role in shaping its economic landscape.

With their vast resources, technological advancements, and strong operational capabilities, MNCs have not only contributed to India's GDP growth but also to the development of sectors such as manufacturing, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, and IT. MNC-themed mutual funds offer investors a unique opportunity to gain exposure to these global giants operating in India.

The investment objective of the scheme is to generate long-term capital appreciation from a portfolio that is invested predominantly in equity and equity related securities of multi-national companies (MNC).

However, there is no assurance that the objective of the scheme will be achieved.

Under normal circumstances, Kotak MNC Fund will hold an allocation of 80% to 100% in Equity and Equity related instruments of Multi-National Companies (MNCs), 0% to 20% in Equity and Equity Related instruments Other than Multi-National Companies (MNCs), 0% to 20% in Debt and Money Market Securities and 0% to 10% in Units of REITs & InvITs.

Kotak MNC Fund aims to generate long-term capital appreciation from a portfolio that is invested predominantly in equity and equity related securities of Multi-national Companies (MNC).

An MNC refers to a registered/incorporated Indian company where foreign promoters hold more than 50% of the shareholding, voting rights, or equity capital. It also includes Indian joint ventures where a foreign company holds more than 26% of the shareholding or voting rights.

Additionally, an MNC can be any Indian company generating more than 50% of its turnover, revenue, or assets from outside India, or any company operating in multiple countries, deriving over 50% of its revenue or assets from regions outside its home country.

The Fund Manager may add stocks or sectors from the Nifty MNC (TRI) and the AMFI classification list, and can also include those aligning with the MNC theme. Although the scheme will predominantly invest in stocks as per the Multi-National Companies (MNCs) theme, it retains the flexibility to take some exposure beyond the theme based on the asset allocation pattern of the scheme.

Kotak MNC Fund is benchmarked against the Nifty MNC Index

Kotak MNC Fund will be managed by Mr Harsha Upadhyaya and Mr Dhananjay Tikariha will be co-managers for Equity and Overseas investment of the Scheme and Mr Abhishek Bisen for debt investments.

Kotak MNC Fund is open for subscription from October 07, 2024 to October 21, 2024. The fund will reopen for continuous sale and repurchase within 5 days from the date of allotment.

The minimum subscription amount is Rs 100/- and in multiples of Re. 1 thereafter.

The fund offers Direct Plan and Regular Plan. Under each plan the fund offers Growth and Income Distribution cum Capital Withdrawal (IDCW) option.
